touring scotland?

hi,thinking of touring scotland like maybe the cairngorns and loch ness and the islands in a caravanette.just me and the wife,we both love hiking.have you done this sort of holiday? any ideas or tips.we was thinking may or june.thanks.ps we will be hiring a 4 berth caravanette for the trip.

One year we did a similar trip in a caravan, up the West Coast in June, across to Inverness, visited Edinburgh and back down through the middle.
We found a good plan was to arrive at a camp site around mid-day, stay 2 nights, then off again in the morning to arrive at the next site for midday again.
This gave us plenty of time to take the car and explore all the likely looking areas around our camp site.
Some of the places we took in were Oban, Fort William (visited the castle, and the museum where they have a pair of Prince Charlie's trews on display), drove to Inverlochy and bought kippers, shopping in Pitlochry (I got sunburnt on my shoulders), camped at the bottom of the Cairngorms and took the ski lift up to play in the snow - came back down and went swimming in the loch - bought trout from a local trout farm and cooked it on a BBQ, Boat trip around the Glen Coe area, clambered around the lower slopes of Ben Nevis, fell in love with the Trossachs, fabulous fresh fish and chips when camping at The Kyle of Lochalsh, boat trip to Skye.
Some things to remember - the midges are man-eaters, especially around Oban; if the weather looks set to be fair take sun block because the air is so clear it is easy to get burned (it's the only place in the World that I've blistered)
Edinburgh is a must, of course - one of the few Cities in the World I love.
Do have a wonderful time - take your cameras.
