hiking first aid kit

If you know a lot about first aid, kits should be easy to put together
First aid kits are an important thing to have available no matter where you go. You should have a good kit assembled for the home, the car, and if you take any day trips such as hiking trips. It is very important to have proper first aid equipment no matter where you go because sometimes it is the quick action that makes all the difference. You can either buy the kits already assembled or work on assembling one yourself.
If you know a lot about first aid, kits should be easy to put together. In fact, specialists and first aid experts know exactly what they need for which situation so they may prefer to put one together themselves. First aid kits at their most basic should include gauze, bandages, alcohol and ointment, more complicated first aid kits can have other things that serve a higher variety of functions.
To get the most out of your first aid kits, it is a good idea to take at least basic first aid. What good is a first aid kit if you don’t know how to use it? Check with your local Red Cross or other organizations that provide first aid training. If you work in child care, in the hospitality industry, or if you spend a lot of time outdoors in the woods you should probably take that knowledge even further and learn CPR and advanced first aid. You never know when you will need your skills.
First aid kits will look differently depending on the purpose. First aid kits for outdoor recreation may contain different items. Some even may contain basic survival items such as iodine tablets and waterproof matches. You never know when someone may have a condition that would require purified water, which is what the iodine is for, or heat and fire, such as something like hypothermia.
Every home and car should have at least one first aid kit. If you spend time outside you should have one dedicated to that. First aid kits are an essential part of survival and it is also a good idea to make sure you know how to use it. If you don’t know how to treat different ailments, the kit would not do much good.

What should I put in First Aid Kit For Hiking?
Think in terms of the common hiking injuries. You'll want the first aid kit to be small, so you'll want to load it with only the items you need for thos injuries.
Minor Cuts - bandaids, disinfectant
More Serious Cuts - gauze bandages, tape, small scissors (use clothing if a tourniquet is needed)
Blisters - moleskin (to reduce friction from rubbing)
Bug Bites - Benadryl
Sun Burn - sunscreen to avoid burn (don't put anything on a burn)
Also reduce the likelihood of injuries by taking plenty of water, a hiking stick, shoes with good ankle support, and good non-rubbing socks (like SmartWool). Take a cell phone to be able to call for help for serious injuries.
